Terms of Use

1. What EMBRACE is (and isn't)

EMBRACE is a workplace self-regulation tool. It is not therapy, mental health treatment, medical care, or a crisis service, and it does not provide clinical advice or diagnosis. It is designed for ordinary, functional moments of activation: before or after a meeting, a hard conversation, a tense day.

If you are experiencing thoughts of harming yourself or others, stop using the app and call or text 988 (US) or call 911 immediately.

2. License

We grant you a personal, non-transferable, non-exclusive license to use the app on Apple devices you own or control, per the App Store terms.

3. Your content

You own what you write in EMBRACE, and we claim no rights over it. Reset and check-in text, drawings, and signatures stay on your device. The optional profile card contains only pre-written selections. If you turn on AI Insights, the reviewed wording behind selected reset and card options — and short AI-written pieces of your previous fireside — is processed as described in the Privacy Policy; typed text is not.

4. Optional product analytics

Pseudonymous product analytics are off unless you opt in. Declining or later turning analytics off does not limit your use of EMBRACE. The Privacy Policy explains the fixed event schema, retention period, and deletion choices.

5. Subscriptions and purchases

The core 90-second reset is free. EMBRACE Plus is an optional auto-renewing subscription (monthly or annual) that unlocks the deeper practice: the parts sanctuary, fireside debriefs and the choice ranking they feed, session history, weekly patterns, part check-ins, living on the island homes you earn, and light themes.

  • New subscribers get a 14-day free trial. It converts to a paid subscription unless cancelled at least 24 hours before it ends.
  • Payment is charged to your Apple ID at confirmation of purchase, or when the free trial ends. Subscriptions renew automatically unless cancelled at least 24 hours before the end of the current period. Manage or cancel anytime in your device Settings (Apple ID → Subscriptions).
  • Prices are shown in the app before any purchase. Billing, receipts, and refunds are handled by Apple (https://reportaproblem.apple.com); we never see your payment details.
  • Island homes are earned by completed resets and stay earned regardless of subscription status. Using a home beyond the default forest requires an active Plus membership.
  • AI personalization additionally requires the separate, optional AI Insights consent (see the Privacy Policy). Without it, Plus debriefs render from the on-device script. With it, AI writes the fireside conversation — labeled as AI-generated, checked by a second model and by the app before showing — and the on-device script remains the fallback for any failure.

6. Acceptable use

Don't reverse engineer, resell, or misuse the app, and don't use it where failure to obtain professional care could cause harm. It is not a substitute for professional support.

7. Disclaimers

The app is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind. To the maximum extent permitted by law, we disclaim implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. We do not warrant that the app will be uninterrupted or error-free, or that your data will never be lost, so keep your device backed up.

8. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, we are not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or exemplary damages arising out of these terms or your use of the app.

9. Changes and termination

We may update the app and these terms; material changes will be shown in-app. You can stop using the app at any time. Deleting it deletes local app data; analytics already sent are handled as described in the Privacy Policy.

10. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania, excluding its conflict-of-law rules.

If you are a consumer resident in the European Union, the European Economic Area, or the United Kingdom, this choice of law does not deprive you of the protection of any provision that cannot be derogated from under the law of your country of habitual residence, and nothing in these terms limits your right to bring proceedings in the courts of that country.
